Hand made platinum wedding bands for men – crafted in South Africa – great quality, great prices. Custom designs welcome – Titanium rings with platinum inlays – perfect for a man who is hard on his jewellery. Platinum wedding rings may be expensive – but it is, after all, the most precious metal on the planet – no matter what the price says, gold may occasionally cost more to buy – but platinum, is far more, more rare than gold. Even palladium is rarer!
Platinum is the king of precious metals – hard, white and precious. Combined with aircraft titanium it becomes an indestructible ring for a man. Although the cost of platinum is high – you certainly get what you pay for. Out of all the precious metals only palladium comes close. Both palladium wedding rings and platinum are naturally white – unlike white gold which is actually grey – and is often rhodium plated to make it look white. As a wedding band for a man, or a woman, platinum is fantastic.
All the other golds are so much softer than platinum. Unless you buy a really chunky wedding ring in gold, the chances of the shank thinning over the years are high – and if you are an active person, sports such as windsurfing and squash will deform a gold wedding ring (not to mention scratch and dent it). Whilst platinum will scratch it does take a lot more abuse without deforming or scratching – even titanium will scratch if you lift weights without gloves.
Cheap platinum does not exist – expect to pay – compared to other precious metals it is very expensive. In a handmade platinum ring the cost is not in the handwork but in the metal – in all other precious metals except palladium, the golds are alloyed with copper and silver – by a large portion – platinum and palladium are forged into wedding rings using 99% pure metal – for that you pay – but what a great wedding band platinum makes. If you are going to spend on a platinum wedding band it is well worth getting an original hand made ring – why not – why go for all the extra cost of a platinum wedding band if it is the same as everyone else’s?
